    Exclamation Medical Leave

    Hello,

I will be gone for an unknown amount of time. I have just gotten a call back from an ER doctor who said my culture and labs came back positive for staph infection. I am going to my doc office and she is going to be admitting me to local hospital. Fun part is because I have a heart condition and infections have went to my heart I may be transported to UCLA or Stanforn... FUN!

I will be back as soon as I can, I am sure this infection wont go to my heart but last 4 have...

Oh God here comes the Vancomycin and Gentamicin... If you have never had t, it burns like napalm through your veins. For some the pain can be so bad they cry... Its not fun stuff but those are the nukes of the medicine world...

Ill keep you informed, if I dont have internet access at hospital ill text a friend i trust to post any updates for me.

Best wishes and get well. I have had to go through two 6-week daily antibiotic treatments for infections resulting from surgery. Both times, they inserted a PIC line in my upper arm instead of daily punctures. I was fortunate in that I didn't get any burning or other issues; just bothersome to go in there every day for two 6 week stretches. However, it sure beat the alternative!

So sorry you have to go through it again. Prayers for the best possible outcome.
On a positive side, at least this is not happening during SHTF time.

Prayers and best wishes sent your way.

By the way.....don't forget to have some fun while you're there. That's important.

I called Karma and called in a couple of markers for you. Prayers and best wishes. Don't try the Tootsie Roll in the bad pan trick. They're on to that one.

Yep, but sometimes the Baby Ruth in the bed pan still gets past 'em. (It works pretty good in a swimming pool, too!)

Kosuki, prayers and best wishes from here too. I have a couple of contacts at UCLA Medical Center, if you wind up there and need something...

I have gotten home from UCLA. I left Saturday and came 300 miles home... The thing is, I cant remember anything of it. I cant remember the last 2 weeks of my life. I cant remember the days before, the er , I cant even remember my medical transfer to UCLA. I have literally lost the last 2 weeks of my life and my memory is shot to the point, it took me 20 min to remember my computer password. You hear stories about people getting so sick they have amnesia of the event, now I know how they feel and its very odd... To just loose 2 weeks of your life, now I must ask my self, WTF happened to me. I was told I had a infection and was emergency transported to UCLA but I cant remember anything up till my discharge on Saturday. I look through my phones text messages and conversations I dont even remember having. Having hospital people walk up to my as I am being discharged talking to me like they knew me for 2 weeks and I dont remember seeing them. I see athe 50+ IV/lab marks on my arms and wonder WTF happened... I dont know if I will ever recover my memory, maybe its best I dont, I dont know, all I know is my memory is like a broken puzzle, too many holes and every time I try to recall and remember It just causes more confusion. I have quite a few PM's and I will get back to those that messaged me when I can, it may take a few days, but I am going to have to read through previous posts all over again just to resume our convos.

I'm glad all is well and you came through okay. The meds they have today also contribute to memory loss. They are designed to block short term memory so you don't "experience" the pain or don't remember it anyway. Glad you're home.
