    Default Another Netting Project

I gave making nets another try last night. This is a simple tote bag (not ready for the challenge just yet!) I made a 2 1/4" gauge and a 2" needle. I used some heavier cord so that I could work on getting my knots and spacing better. I did much better with both of those and this is my first attempt at tube netting. It came out pretty good and I learned even more this time. I still missed two loops some how? I'm not sure if I missed them at the start of my next row around or missed it at the end of a row before I started around again? Just another stage of the learning curve. This was also my first time to do a decreases in the net. That part worked fairly decent considering but I still need to make them a little cleaner.
Here's a few pix and I'm off to buy some more line and give it another whirl. I'm going to try a bit smaller loops on the next one, maybe 1 1/4" or 1 1/2"

    One of the missed loops.

Very nice net. I especially like the way you made the top. That bag will make a great beach bag for wet towels, swim suits, etc.
I admire your woodworking skills. You will appreciate the curved side of the gauge as you make a lot of nets. A sharp corner digging into your palm can leave a mark. Tony

Thank You for the kind words Tony!
Yes, the curve on the gauge didn't take long to figure out with even the first small net I made. I'm having about as much fun making the needles and gauges as I am using them. I figure make them nice to start with because I plan on using them for a long time to come.
I'm making another Tote-Bag tonight. I need to really pay attention to where I am dropping those loops?
