    Qualifications to carry?

My origional qualifications consisted of borrowing my Mom's keychain knife until I drove her crazy and she actually bought me my own knife if I promised to leave her keys alone! I think I was 6-7 years old. I have had a knife in my pocket each day from that point.

My GGDad, born in 1865, had shown me the tricks to the whittlers' art at a very early age. Somewhere around 4. We would sit on the porch and make toothpicks from cedar fence posts.

The only time I have been without a knife for a full day was during a flight to AZ back in '09, and my first stop on landing was Cabellas' for a "vacation knife".
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

But then you never wanted to take it and nothing else and go live in the wilderness for months and live off the land. We should have some "sound mind" qualifications for those folks.

I integrated a sound mind as well as an IQ filter in the OP.

I specified no fixed blade bushcraft knives or big choppers.

Multitools seem to be more discrete. At least people don't seem to mind if they see the belt pouch. And, the pliers are mighty handy. I have the Victorinox version.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
