I really like a lot of belly for fleshing bear hides. Nice knife.

Crash, what do they call it when there is a finger pocket in front of the hilt, so a man can choke out on the blade. We would wrap duck tape on the blade so as to get a forward grip.

I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

That's beautiful. I can almost imagine being able to split wood with it, it seems that hefty.
How much does it weigh, btw?

Another work of art. That's a nice knife and a nice job on the sheath, too.

Nice one Crash! You might consider a chopper sized knife with the same lines!

Can this be added after the knife is completed.......or must it be done at the layout stage.......?????

Removing steel is the easy part (with the right tools). Modifying an existing knife will require a lot of cooling (dunking in water) so the temper isn't changed. It all depends on where you want to put it. Really no different than finger groves on a handle. I stopped doing finger groves until I get a small wheel attachment for my grinder. A drum sander works, but is a lot of work. A die grinder will probably work (have only used it on finger guards). The smallest contact wheel I have currently is 1.5".
