Default Do you name your gear?

Remy will have a field day with this, but I name some of my gear, do you?
Some may think this odd, some may not but in the old days everyone used to do it. Most historical trekkers and re-enactors do it, and I have found alot of modern hunters and hkers do it to.
    My New Flintlock is Jeremiah
My old one (now my son's) is Tobias
    My .300 mag is Goliath
My favorite knife is Taglia (Itialian for "The Cutter")
My other one is Darby (yeah named after Darby of Darby's Ranger)
The Flintlock I'm going to build, the name will be Le Loup Noir’ or ‘The Black Wolf’ as the barrel will be very dark and the stock a deep dark colored wood.

There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

I had a .458 Win. Mag. named "BIG THUNDER" and another .458 Win. Mag. named "Da'Big One", and a .375 H&H named "Little Thunder". I have some handguns that are named after the first words out of the shooters mouth when they discharged them.

I have had names for tents that leak.

And some Boots have been called names.

I've named a few knives over the years, and a couple of rifles. I'm not going to tell anymore of their names cuz I don't want them answering to anyone else
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

Actually, I have a pull toy that you're more than welcome to help yourself to, I'm just saying I'm not sharing the rifles and knives names with these yahoos, I already let baby's name slip in that other thread.

I named my wife's dog "That Jerk a** little brown furry piece of sh**", if that helps. I told her I'd already measured it for the spit in the fireplace.

So does the dog respond at all when you call it? Or do you use a shortened version of the name? Cuz I was thinking by the time you were finished calling it, the dog might have wandered out of ear shot.

It generally hides when it hears me coming. Or it just stands and stares at me. The dog has irreversible brain damage. I swear it does. It ate my ear buds yesterday. The are completely gone. Part of a plastic toy the day before. It has hid my socks, my Heineken can, my bandanna, and a cotton towel I take camping with me. Fortunately, I've found all those. It can not only open it's cage but it can untie knots as well!
