    Cool Country Music

I hope I'm not the only one on here that enjoys country music, so I thought I would ask! How many of you enjoy country music and who's your favorite artist and/or song? I'll start off first. One of my favorite songs is either "People Are Crazy" by Billy Currington or "A Woman Like You" by Lee Brice. And my favorite artist is probably going to have to be Carrie Underwood or Billy Currington.
Will you be ready when the time comes?

I like country music just fine. No particular artist, just like listening.

Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Jason Sturgeon went to school with him, and many many more!

Like the country music for sure. Like the older stuff that I grew up on such as Willie Nelson "Mammas don't let your baby's grow up to be cowboys", George Strait, Waylon Wille Kris Kristoferson "Highwayman". Seems like things changed when Garth Brooks came along.

Favorites would be Schop, Bach, Hadel, Mozart, Mendelssohn. Mostly German. Is that country okay?

You are aging yourself a bit, aren't ya?!

I too am a fan of country music. I like the old stuff with the new. I'll listen to Hank and Loretta as well as Garth, Alan Jackson, Kenny and the rest.

When it comes to country music, I'm all over the place. What holds it all together is the story line and the voice. Just few examples:

How could I have forgotten the Mavericks? If you don't get up and dance to this one you just might be dead.

I like Pandora app. My favorite station on Pandora is one I created after the CDB song "Simple Man". Plays CDB, Waylon, Bocephus, Merle, Johny Cash, Willie, Hank, Hank III and many more. I also have a bunch of bluegrass stations. I like a song by The Steeldrivers, "Blue Side Of The Mountain".

Brantley Gilbert kicks *** but he ain't really country. He is Southern Rock. "Kick It In The Sticks", "Hell On Wheels", and "Take It Outside" are good examples. Along the same lines we get Colt Ford in camp a lot. He is in the Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert camp.

Any one like Jamey Johnson? This guy is my kind of country. He needs someone to play him though.

Currently my favorite country music artist is Blake Shelton. My all time favorite song of all time is "Texas" by George Strait.

I like the older stuff mostly. I mostly listen to foot stomping, a** slapping, rock....or anything with a fiddle in it such as bluegrass. I've been going out most Saturday nights to my old stomping ground, the Howling Dog Saloon, which is closed in the winter because they can't heat it.
Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

I like the old stuff as well, I do like some of the new country but a lot of it is more rock than country, me and my buddies affectionately call it boondock rock. I don't like the new pop country at all (Taylor Swift for example). My favorite artist is Johnny Cash but not far behind are Hank Jr, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Guy Clark, David Allen Coe, and Jamey Johnson. My Favorite song is Simple Man by Charlie Daniels.

*Fixed my brain fart, had Hank Jr. instead of Charlie Daniels...

You and me got the same taste in music, I think Jamey Johnson sounds like a cross between Waylon and David Allen Coe and I like him because he sings and records real country the way it should be. I love The Steeldrivers, one of my favorite songs of theirs is If it Hadn't Been for Love, not many people know of the but they are a "Nashville All-Star Band" made up of recording artists.

Hey Sparky93, I like the Jamey Johnson pick. I like that guy too. He sings like he has some serious demons.

I like the classic stuff ( my favorite country record is The Outlaws .... Put another log on the fire...)

The stuff they play on so-called country radio today is more like pop music than country; it all sounds the same. Ugh
I do like the Steeldrivers. Blue Side of the Mountain is a great song. I would say they are a all-star group of session players though they all have solo projects.
