    Default .22 Long Rifle @ LONG-LONG-LONG-LONG Range.

OK, I got the hots to do some long range .22 rimfire shooting. I have put the 4X to 12X Illuminated reticle scope on the CZ-452 Ultra-Lux with the 29" barrel. I figure to start at 300 Yards. I found this interesting: http://ghostprepper.blogspot.com/201...und-video.html

    That is interesting.

It's not, by any means, supportive of using a .22lr as a defensive round. It does support the idea that the round remains "capable" at long range.

By defensive round, I mean a quick fight ender. No firearm guarantees a stop.

Here's a cop shot in the face with a .45 ACP.

It's a matter of the size of the fight in the dog.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

If you are looking at 300yd range with a .22, might I suggest the WMR instead of the LR? Not saying that the LR can't do it, just thinkin that the WMR could do it better. Just a thought.

The WMR costs what .556 costs almost. You lose the benefit of low cost and ample availability.

    Everybody owns a .22lr.

My fault, I didn't see price being a factor in the OP. I only saw .22lr for very long ranges.

The goal is to learn from first hand experience, to Know 100% for sure what my firearms will do. To know because "I" did the test. I have seven .22 WMR Rifles (including a Anchultz) and I will test the .22 WMR cartridge later. I think I can pull 5" groups at 300 yards, but thinking is one thing and "KNOWING" is another.

One of things people forget is you need ear protection with .223 and .22 Magnum.

WMR and Magnum are the same. WMR stands for Winchester Magnum Rifle.

If you act quickly you can still get this (http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/...raining-rifle/) awesome firearm in .22 Long Rifle "OR" .22 Magnum (Winchester Magnum Rimfire). About $359.00 and comes with military style tangent ( Sliding Elevator) sights.

Well, the CZ-452 line of firearms is largely discontinued, but they are still available.

I'd be very interested in knowing just know many ft lbs of energy are left in it at 300 yds.
