mwshadow: I'm not sure what it is. I am sure it's not a Pleurotus, and I'm sure it's not Phaelous schweinitzii. I do however think that G. frondosa is the best candidate I know of. Meripulus sumstinei is fairly similar, but tends to have yellow-cream hues before it ages and bruises black where damaged.
