    Default Hello from northern Georgia

I've been an avid outdoorsman since I was a kid and I'm originally from rural Minnesota. Now in my forties, I often joke that I spent more time outside all year round than indoors. I had the benefit of the Minnesota woodland lakes and later the Pine Ridge area of western Nebraska as my playground. I joined the US Army after high school and continued my love of wilderness living as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Some of my additional interests have led me to adventure racing, rock climbing and mountain biking. I prefer navigation with a topo map and a compass to using a GPS, although I won't deny that the technology has improved a bit since it first came on the market.

Well, the 82nd is Almost Airborne at least! [To other, non-Airborne, posters this is an inside joke!]

Welcome to these boards, my friend, from one who understands that exiting a perfectly good airplane in mid-flight can sometimes be a good thing.

At least they let you all use a parachute beats helocasting / rappelling down. Or just get ten feet off the ground and be told to jump.
