Careful....your kit will get lighter as you get older and start suffering from CRS.

I've got at least another month or two before that happens... Oh wait, is that the denial stage?

I'm just prepping on a budget. Maybe I can barter knowlege with all the people who have preps but don't know how to use them.

That works out fine ...as the older you get, the less you want to carry.....and with CRS you can't remember what all the stuff was for, anyway...

.....or where you were going in the first place......Hum, just walked in here?...what was I doing?

Memory is an odd thing. For the life of me I sometimes can't remember why I wanted to survive anyway! You youngsters still think something good might happen down the road. Us old folks look at a situation and think, "Oh He!! just let it go! My feet hurt and I am not pumping out that last 5 miles today. Them berries, bugs and tree bark just arn't worth the trip."

We get the same way when young folks start talking about "Bugging Out". Bug out to where? I been working 60 years to get where I am, I ain't going anywhere! I don't have a BOB, I have a Get Home Bag. Oddly, a get home bag is a lot lighter than a "bug out bag". We don't have to depend on it to stay alive forever, just to get home.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
