Duke didn't like modeling a dog harness. "I'm a boy, not a dog", he exclaimed. I made him try it on anyways.

But he did like making new friends and learning a bit more about the Athabascan culture. Her dress is called a kuspuk. They are worn year round with varying layers worn underneath. They are trimmed in brick brack and almost always a colorful print.

Duke decided he would rather just be a fan then be a musher or a dog.

I had a West Virginia Stanley visit me a couple years ago. He really enjoyed going to a football (soccer) match, helping with the girls, visiting Rockingham Castle, and having a pint at the pub. The last activity was removed from his curriculum when he got home......

FS aka Duke, of course had to go visit the Lend Lease Program statue. If you are not familiar with what that was, do look it up.

A little story about the LLP. When we lived in Colorado, my dad had a friend that was a pilot on the Russian side for the flights over to Siberia. We had him over one time, guys out in the shop drinking beer and visiting. They came in for sandwiches for a late lunch. He used a knife and fork for his sandwich. We all got a chuckle out of it. He was a very good sport.
