    Default Tatical Folder Test

Bouncing off a PM discussion and found this old article after some searching. I read this as the father of a Marine in combat back several years ago. The boy was in some of the worst of the early combat and was carrying a fighting blade I had forged for him, a Buck framelock and the generic Gerber multitool. He still carries the Buck as EDC.

Part of the test is hokey but it is good indication of how long it takes for a Marine to tear up a good blade and which ones survived their use. Some of these things I would never do to a blade but I say that with license. I once hacked open a 55 gallon barrel of desil fuel with a good knife and never hesitated for an instant.

I thought there might be some that would have use for the link as they make decisions about EDC, backup for their main blade or even use as a primary blade.

And for advisement on what you can get away with and what you can not get away with when using a folder in a stressed situation.
