    oh yes the garlic and the oil lamps, those oil lamps stunk a bit too as I remember.

    Never eat garlic to keep away mosquitoes. All it does is keep away other folks making you the only target available for mosquitoes.

    In North Carolina when I was n the Coast Guard every restaurant had garlic on the tables. We put it on EVERYTHING. Almost never bitten.
    But it takes a good week to get full of garlic. It did work though
