Survival Campout

Wish me luck I'm off to train our local Scout Venture Crew in wilderness survival! I hope to have a video up next week on the trip.. Theme is a virus has spread across the county and our group has to bug out. You can bring your 10 piece kit and a sleeping bag and a tarp. We have cached the food at our location and they will have a map and compass to find the food stores. They will have to make a fire without matches or a lighter and will have to treat all water. Sat night we have rabbits for them to harvest and prepare for dinner. It should be a fun time.. Looking at night temps in the 30's.. Details to follow when I get back.

Sounds amazingly like the end of my first marriage. I do not think I had even 10 pieces of kit left, except I hid my Zippo from her.

And once again we are "practicing survival", placing ourselves in harms way on purpose, with children.

I should not say anything. After all, I did remarry.

We survived the trip! It was cold at night 29 deg last night. But the youth had fun and learned a lot. Video to follow soon.
