    Default Hey from Georgia!

Just briefly, I'm from Ga, 40, and a COMPLETE newbie both to the forum, and to the "survival preparedness" thought process! Please forgive my ignorance and dumb questions I may ask. Also, I'm
having to start all this new after 20yrs of marriage and 3 kids (12,8,3) and somehow keep them
From thinking i've lost my mind...

Welcome to the forum. Where in Georgia do you live? You don't have to be too specific. There's a bunch of here. I live north of ATL, not too far from the Bass Pro in Lawrenceville.

Good to have you on board.

Howdy. I'm also from Georgia and travel a bit through a couple of counties in northeast Georgia.

Welcome home. No shame in being new. All of us started somewhere.

I explain preps this way. You take out insurance on your house in case something happens. If your house is worth $200K you don't take out $100K insurance thinking only the kitchen will burn or the roof will blow away. You insure it at the worse case scenario so you take out $200K worth of insurance. Same with your car.

You know SOMETHING is going to happen sooner or later. It might be a blizzard, tornado, flood, etc. based on where you live. Why wouldn't you "insure" your family to the worst case scenario as well? You should value them more than your house or car. So having extra food and water and gear just makes good sense and completes what you started with your other forms of insurance.

Welcome to the forum. Come on in and make yourself at home. Nothing wrong with being a newbie. I learn something new everyday and been in the woods all my life.

    Cool Howdy from Sarge!

Welcome. If you have any problems with the family, just point out Hurricane Katrina. Many people who failed to prepare failed to survive. Just sayin'....anyhoo, welcome!
