Default Got home at 4 am this morning.

Spent the night out on the pond that we normally run dog teams down to for short trips. Set up the Arctic Oven (with a heater) and sat out under the northern lights drinking coffee and hot chocolate.

Communing with nature at its best. -6 F so not too bad.

That is a breathtaking view. I sure wish we would have been able to see the northern lights when we were there but just the wrong time of year. Great pics. What software did you use to outline? That's kinda cool.

That Arctic oven tent sure looks like a nice piece of work, great for those cold winter nights.

I think it's just an old Indian trick, long exposure, someone behind them tracing with a flashlight.

    Fantastic photos.

-6, that is quite a warm up for you, correct?

Another couple of degrees warmer and you will be skinny dipping with the grizlies.

Well come on up. March or Sept. is your best bet as our temps are more bearable but we still get enough hours of darkness to see them well.

Yep, arctic ovens are awesome. Wicking materiel on the inside, fresh air intake and exhaust tubes to keep the air fresh. There is even a wood stove that goes in them but we only used the little propane heater and coleman lamp this time.

Yes, we just used the little LED light on the snow machine keyring, 20 second exposure.

Yes definatly. I was only wearing little fleece gloves and only had to go in about once an hour to thaw out my hands.

Lol well like I said, come on up.

Thanks. I have more pictures but was using my friends Nikon D90 with my SD card, instead of my camera. So I have to go buy a card reader to get them off of my card onto my computer.

The sky was so green, it was reflecting off the snow.

When I was in the Navy and stationed in Iceland, back in the early 70's, we would drive out to the end of the runway's and just sit and watch the best show ever. I would like to see the northern lights again.

Awesome pictures! Can't say I've ever seen the LED trick, pretty cool.
