OTF and Auto knives

I know alot of you are against expensive knives, but from time to time I buy some pretty expensive knives. What do yall think about benchmade autos. Im thinking about buying the Pardue model. I currently own a few micro techs. I owned a benchmade years ago. But do yall think the benchmade pardue would make a worthy pocket knife for the avid camper/outdoorsman? heres a link to it.

Not for me, although most here know I go into the woods with as little gear as I can and even use the old 1750s methods there are times I go modern or with todays equipment (yeah no choice sometimes) and when I do the knife I carry is at times an Emerson, if your gonna spend the money try one of these. I have the CQC6

Personally I don't like to rely on auto's for a camping/outdoor knife. I realize that you probably take more than one blade, but with the auto's there's just one more thing that can go wrong, expecially if it's getting some hard use or in rough conditions. Don't get me wrong, auto's have their place (shroud cutters if you skydive) I just don't like them for the purpose that you described. As far as the $$$. That's a non issue for me. It's yours, spend it on whatever you want.

Whether you buy a Cadillac or a Ford, they both go down the road the same. Get yourself a good fixed blade for the wilderness.. for your collection, whatever suits ya.
