I can't even imagine. I can't imagine how much milk it would take to cool that rascal down.

I was thinking about the poor fellow that did the tasting.

    Probably went something like......

An out of work accountant answered a help wanted ad in the paper for food taster.

We eat habaneros regularly and I got it down to a science. One minced habanero for 2 large salads is just tolerable. 1 1/2-2, and your throat is singed. Also, if I don't use gloves when mincing, my fingers burn for days.
    Good stuff! And amazingly healthy.

Wearing gloves is a must. I once cut up some Hungarian Wax (which takes my breath just cutting them up) and touched the corner of my eye after I was done and had washed my hand. Lesson learned about gloves.

I can cut up a jalapeno, go right to the sink and wash my hands...and still manage to get some hot stuff in my eye. I'm pretty sure that I don't want to mess with the really hot stuff! LOL

Wax museum in Hungary where they had hot peppers. It's a long story. Suffice to say the Hungarians are not amused by a hong. Did you know you have to cook your own food in their jails?

Looks like a nasty Scotch Bonnet. I've never seen the point in eating something that causes so much pain.

Endorphins. Some folks can get a pleasant rush eating them. The extreme pain, in the brain, says the mouth is literally on fire and the brain releases endorphins to deal with the pain. Since endorphins are what produces the high with morphine etc. they get a pleasant rush from it. My brain generally produces tears.
