Hey there!
Here is how i make Sweedish Torch:
I strat by looking for some pine roots witch serve me as cordage to keep the torch from falling apart. By taking one or two roots from tree you won't harm it

Best way to find pine roots is if you place yourself between two pine trees and start digging diagonaly between the trees. When you find the root change derection and start digging along the root. When you uncover desired length of the root just pull it out.

Here we see all the matreial we'll need for Sweedish Torch: Pine log (pine is one of the best woods for torch beacuse of all the pitch), birch bark, pine needles and some thin dry sticks.

After I've done that I reasamble the log and use pine roots and tie them on the log to prevent the torch from falling apart.

Now I fill the log with birch bark, pine needles, kindling and on top of it I add some pine pitch.
