    Default Hi Everybody

New here and I already broke the rules, opps! I didn't make my first post an intro so I guess I better do that now

I am 23, live in central MN, female, I currently have the dreaded desk job and train a few horses on the side...may be someday I will get to be a ranch wife but gotta do the job that pays the bills now! I have next to zero experience with wilderness survival, complete novice. Barrel racing and horses in general (I have 6 right now) take up most of my time from March-Nov., just got a 9mm and I have to admit target practice is *almost* as much fun as running barrels. I love reading dystopian novels and have been messing around with writting fiction while the winter keeps me from riding as much. I was doing some research for my writting and I found this site in the process. I have been spending a fair bit of time reading the info on here and it's been great!

Welcome home. Don't worry about being a novice. We all started some place. Besides, I don't know a thing about barrel racing. Is it hard to keep them rolling in a straight line?

Thanks! Well, when you first start them under saddle it can be a bit like riding a deer trying to find its sea legs but by the time they start running they have had so much pattern work they could probably do all with out me. The running is usually the easy part, it's the turning that can be a problem.

Hello and welcome. I haven't done any barrel racing, but in my youth I raced around a keg or two.

Welcome home! 6 horses!!!! I never had more than 3 and a couple of beef critters and that was a lot of work. At least I didn't have to groom the beef critters.

Welcome to the forum. Come in and make yourself at home. Lots of horses and barrel racing down here. I watch it, I don't do it.
