    Default New member, New knives

Hello all, my name is Robert and I have been lurking on the forum for a while now so thought I should say hello. The main work I do is bladesmithing so I thought I would show so of the more recent knives I've done and see what you guys think. This weekend I'll be making up five new "mini" survival knives that I'll probably post next week. But all questions, comments, and criticisms are welcomed. The first knife is a forged Bowie , the second a "Half Back Hunter" , and the third one is a Woodsman's Needle. I'll make more of the one that gets the most votes. Thanks for looking!

The poll I set was accidental but I can't figure out how to take it down if anyone could let me know how it would be appreciated.

    Welcome to WSF.
I like the look of your work but not sure which is which. That striker with copper looks awesome.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Welcome. I like that Woodsman's Needle, has a neat look and appears functional.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. My personal favorite is the "woodsman's needle" I gave it that nickname just because its so darn skinny. But it's my workhorse knife and the only thing it can't do that my bowies can is chop through 2x4 s and small trees but for normal use that isn't quite necessary...If any one would like I could post something about different styles of flint strikers and how to make them?

The first knife is just a simple W2 tool steel rough forged bowie, the second picture is the "half back hunter" I nick named it that because the secondary edge on the back is sharpened up to halfway up the spine so "half back" and that knife weighs 6 ounces at 14 inches long, the last one is more of an all purpose knife which is why I nicknamed it the woodsman's needle.
