Hello,
My name is Brandon and I'm a newbie to the wilderness/survival world. I have camped out plenty of times as a kid, but have not had much teaching in the way of wilderness survival. I will be trying to learn any of the lingo that I can to help keep on pace. Each category of the forum world seems to have its' own specific lingo and abbreviations. I come from an exercise background that has no real bearing here, other than that my CV system should be primed for extensive abuse. I know things are a lot different in the wilderness than in the weight room, and I'm all ears.
I have been watching and reading a lot of survival blogs, posts, articles and videos. Truth be told the first time I heard "bug out bag" I thought the article was referring to a bag that kept bugs out, and I now know it's an essential survival item when SHTF and I need to "bug out".
I see there is a lot of content here and I will read as much as I can before chiming in with questions. Nobody likes it when the newb decides to forgo the "search" feature.
I always like to know the meanings of peoples forum names, so my name of B-urban83 is B for Brandon, urban due to my living situation, and '83 being the year I was born.
