Hello and Welcome. I was stationed at Lewis for 6 years. I hope you enjoy Washington, I miss the mountains all the time.

Welcome aboard Shipmate. I was just down the road a bit from you for 9 years (in the 80's) at Bangor.

Whidbey has to be one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. You can walk out to some of the shops built on piers and there are thousand of starfish in the water below. It's like an underwater rainbow. I've never seen anything like it.

I agree completely. My daughter (3) and I have a spot here near the house on the beach we like to go to. I built her a "fort" out of the drift wood. We like to go during low tide you can see all the starfish and other critters in the tidal pools.

We were at Deception Pass when the tide was going out and a pleasure craft was trying to get into the cove. They finally gave up. I've never seen that much water flowing and NOT be in a river.
