    Default Hello, Wilderness Survival Fourms

Hello, everyone. I am an extremely new member who just joined this forum hours ago. I should start off I guess by saying that I have absolutely no experience backpacking -- or with staying extended periods of time in the wilderness. I am 20, female, and was born and raised in suburbia USA. So far, I've only had minor expeditions into all of the nearby wooded areas I could possibly find -- which doesn't really amount to much. It would be an amazing experience I think to learn how to and truly live off the land. It has always been a desire of mine to have those skills...and recently I find that desire to be stronger than ever as my current living situation gets more and more unfavorable to me. I think it would be great to be able to travel to and backpack through the wilderness, staying gone for days, weeks, or whatever at a time.

I was happy to find these forums, and think I really could learn a lot from the many people here. Indeed, my goal is to learn all I can; I am a willing student, and am very excited to start reading and asking questions. All in all, I am ready to work hard, and I hope this forum will be a good starting point!

Thanks to all for reading, I am sorry for rambling!
