I had never considered that and I've looked at those a time or two. Here's what I found in a wiki...

"The revolver can be fired using the .32 S&W,.32 Smith & Wesson Long, and .32 H&R Magnum cartridges, but this practice is not generally advised. .327 Federal Magnums should never be fired in this revolver. The Nagant revolver was not designed to fire these rounds, which have different dimensions, so the shooter should be aware of the risks before attempting to use them in the revolver. Aftermarket cylinders for .32 can be installed by the shooter, allowing them to safely fire .32 H&R or .32 ACP"

I don't know any more than that.

Anyone know where you can get the after market cylinders? I wouldn't mind having one in .32 S&W. I'd take 32 ACP, too.

I finally found a cylinder insert. Century Arms has them. They are in .32 ACP, new and they list for $54.87. They are out of the 1895's at the moment but $160 for a .32 ACP shooter ain't too bad. The cylinders are blued, non-fluted and 7 shot.

They were selling the 1895 Nagant at my toy store here a couple of years ago...$150 bucks, w/holster and tools/cleaning stuff.
Ammo is sorta hard to find, but available at Midway for one, kinda pricey.

Have shot the .32 S&W, it does deform the case, so reloading is out of the question.
Have not tried the .32 H&R Mag or the others, The .32 is much quieter than the standard Nagant load, life a "short" vr Long rifle.

Did find a .32 cylinder at a show, guy had a couple of them and wanted like $150 for just the cylinder, same price as I paid for the whole rig......and is really a PITA to change out, apparently. Didn't buy it... so don't know personnely....just info from the guy selling the cylinders.

I just decided that I didn't really "need' one at the time......but still watch for cylinders at shows.....seems they were selling a lot of the revolvers at the time so were popular.

Fun gun to shoot, though....might just do the deed in the future.

I do agree with the "scrounger mentality"....Just a mind set, that no matter what you can find, you can use it......to go bang.
