H63, I sure hope you fly fish, as that looks like the perfect spot with all that room for the back cast. What species of fish are in your river?

Mostly native brown trout, and a few rainbows that got carried out of raising ponds a few years ago in the flooding.

Also some suckers and red horse, whicn I leave on the bank.

Do a little fly fishing,...in the spring, but mostly DW and I do lawn chair fishing on the bank....she fishes and I bait the hooks, fix the snags, and take off off the the fish.....LOL

Does the river run that swift all the time? I'm surprised the beavers would try to dam it if it's always that swift.

Yes, The Kickapoo runs pretty fast, we have bank beavers....make dens in the banks, or in some of the little tributaries, they do dam those up some.

Saw a muskrat along the bank, as well, they have their dens in the wetlands next to the river.
Between the two they leveled the willows in the lower field I was going to harvest for 'willow backs' Native American version of the lawn chair.

Packing up this morning, to come back to the Big City...... saw a big buck in the corner of the corn field....Most likely won't be there in a couple of weeks during gun deer. season....LOL.
