    Cool pics, nice country up there. Too bad those brightly colored humans ruined the scenery.
    I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

    Wow... thats all I can say. My dads been trying to drag me to Alaska for some time now. Being a tropical florida boy I've had no intentions of ever going but that slideshow just sold me.

    Alaska isn't all about snow and bitter cold. If you travel to the Inside Passage you'll find some pretty amazing temps albeit quite a bit of rain. It's a subtropical temperate rain forest so they receive a lot of rain but a bit less cold than the mainland. Winter (the member) can probably give you some insights vs. what you might have seen. The Tongass National Forest comprises a large part of that, about 17 million acres. So there's plenty of land to do what want and some great sport fishing.
