Some of Seal Team 6 killed

That breaks my heart.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.
That's truly sad all around. But the boys fro Seal 6 earned their right to come home after the big get and it's just tragic that this is how it had to end for them. My heart hurts for them and their families.
Not that it makes much difference but those members of 6 that took Bin Laden were not aboard the chopper. It's a pretty sad thing. I'll be glad when all our men and women are safely home.

We need to come home, and stay at home for a while.
I don't mean to imply that the life of a SEAL is more valuable than the life of any brave US soldier, but from an operation standpoint it has to sting to lose 20 of those very elite warriors like that. It's expensive and time consuming to replace them.
My heart goes out to the families of all of them, including those of our fallen Afghan allies.
Such a sad thing. Sometimes words aren't big enough.

No words can express the sorrow. May they RIP

A sad day indeed. Sailors Rest Your Oars.
Sad ndeed.
It took us 10 years to find Ben Laden. It took them 3 months to find and distroy ST6.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
I just wanted to point out that not only 22 SEALs were killed. The AP quoted one source as saying the team was thought to include 22 SEALs, three Air Force air controllers, seven Afghan Army troops, a dog, his handler, a civilian interpreter and helicopter crew.
It's sad when any US soldier, civilian, or ally has to lose their life in conflict.
May they and all who died in service RIP.
another tragic moment i feel for their family's in this hard times...
I just want to say that it's a credit to the people we have in these forums that posters can simply recognize the tragedy that occurred, give their condolences, and simply let their comments stand. in any other forum I've seen this story might spark a political debate, and the story would be forgotten as people hurled insults at each other over their views on foreign policy. Those who have posted here realize that the only facts that matter here are that 38 American soldiers, all of whom deserved better, were killed overseas. A close friend of mine is currently at the naval academy with hopes of becoming a SEAL, and had it been him, I would at least be proud to say that you've decided to honor him instead of using his death to prove a political point. may they rest in peace.
That's the reason that politics and religion are two of the topics that are off limits here.

If there were a video camera on the ground that night you might have seen something like.....
"That is excellent shooting, Amir. Khalaf will be proud of you when he finds out!"
"What should we do now, Mufid?"
"How fast can you run to Pakistan?"
