Or bring a warm coat.
And some food. You wonder if he died from exposure or from lack of food? He was not reported missing, so evidently he did not leave a plan with anyone, or have regular check in calls to family or friends.

At the very least, have an ex to whom you owe money.
You WILL be found, I guarantee.
The lack of knowledge of tarrain got him. Unless he was disabled and could not walk. He was only 3 miles from a town. He either could not walk that distance of did not know the location of the town.
He had everything he needed and was used to living the life.
He was stuck in mid Feb and did not run out of food for a month!
He lasted another month without food!
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

Take it from an old guy that has been married longer than he has not. There is only ONE requirement for a happy marriage and that requirement is on the guy. You have to be able to say "Yes, ma'am"...... a lot.
As for the goober that got himself dead. Nature's way of natural selection.

This thread has me questioning the wisdom of starting my diet this morning.
Looking at the Height/weight chart, the body fat index, the fat burning profile and my calorie intake, then eliminating the last for March, April and part of May, then haulting all physical activity other than gathering wood, I have come to the realization that if I had been with this old guy I would just now be closing in on my recommended weight goal.
As far as the money in the bush thing. Quite right, it will not save you. But $5,000 will buy a roof over your head in a cheap motel for the two or three bad months of winter.
Plus, at 68 this old guy had some Social Security money comming in every month. I bet there are checks waiting for him in a PObox right now. Had he been willing to part with a few of those $$$ he would still be alive.
This may be a case of death by stingy.
