    Default The bears are awake.

    A girlfriend and I took a day trip down to Denali this passed Monday and was lucky enough to see a grizzly. We talked to the park ranger and she said this one was on his own but there was a mom and two yearlings right down the road earlier. You can see pictures in my blog. We are going to be on the cover of the Sat. edition of our paper's outdoors section.
    Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

    Those are really some awesome pictures. I love the one of him scratching his back on the post. There was a lot of red hair blowing in the AK breeze!

    Congratulations. We were pretty lucky when we were at Denali. We came up with a grand slam AND got to see McKinley. I understand that's a pretty rare occurrence.

    Lol Crash, yes indeedie.

    Rick pretty rare for tourist yes. I get to see it if visible every day I go into town as I live in the hills behind town. So if it's out, I get to see it. Really increases your odds being right here lol.
