    Default What weighrt leather

    Okay so I need to make a sheath,pouch type for a canadian belt knife.What weight leather do I need to get.Any sheath makers thanks in advance.

    For pouch sheaths I prefer 8/10 ounce leather. If it's a lighter knife 6 ounce works well. All depends on what you find comfortable. You can stiffen and harden thin leather after you make the sheath.

    I like 7-9 oz for most sheaths. I do have some 8-10 premium but it is harder to work with IMO.
