Default Loooooooong Forum Names & No way to last post.

OK, this is not about anyones forum name. That said I notice that some names are so long that there is no "Chevron" to click for the last post. And one has to start at the beginning of the thread to open it, then work ones way to the last post.......? Thoughts.

Can there be a limit to the amount a letters in a forum name.......?

I looked at the longest forum name I could find (YCC's) and the little blue chevron thingie was there.

SD, what size screen do you use and what resolution?

When my window is not maximized, some of the names don't show completely. The browser scales the pages' table columns to fit width of your window. Hope that helps.

Now, I still have the issue with the "Go to First New Post". It still doesn't work for me, and just takes you to the top of the page where the newest post in that thread is located.

Ok, yes I am still using the old computer, with a small screen. Thanks.

That's the same issue I'm having, started with the upgrade.

Same here, and Crash hit it on the head with the name. No offense YCC. It is on all browsers I use, and I have a Windows 7 OS and a larger screen than I used to have. It all started with the upgrade for me as well. Also have the same problem YCC is having with "first new post".

Maybe the problem is because YCC's name is too long. Server overload!

I could get Chris to shorten it to ycc or change it to something else, but then I might forget who I am!

With the newpost thing, when you click it, the URL should look like this:

    http://www.wilderness-survival.net/forums/showthread.php?16327-Wild-Burdock-Root&p=299210#post299210

If it does not look like that, there is no # in the last bit, then there is a bug with the software.

If, however, the # appears, then it is a bug with your browser or browser settings.

What the # does is tells your browser to zoom to a certain point on the page AFTER the page loads. But if you already start scrolling before the page is loaded completley that can mess it up too. It is a browser function though, not a page/site/coding function on this end.

OK Chris, This is what I got when I hit "go to first unread post" Icon on another thread...

Hope that helps with troubleshooting this.

Same thing on the Glock thread.....

Here's what I get. It takes me to the first post, never to first unread. http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...ation&p=299476

The options I have are to either click on first new post and go to the first post, or click on last post and go to the last. Since it started with the upgrade, and doesn't do it on any other website, I'd have to think it's on your end.

Same here as well. Also this is the only Vbulletin forum that has this high of an upgrade that I'm on. I say this because of the appearance of avatars are the same on those, as they used to appear here. Also this was not a problem until the upgrade here.

Hmmm. I have never used that button. Maybe why I've never experienced the problem you are having.

If you had, and it was working properly, it would take you to the first post in that thread that you hadn't read. On all other VBulletin forums I am a member of it works properly.

I can confirm the bug, but unsure how to fix it.

The gotofirst post from the forum homepage works, but from a subforum index page it doesn't work.
