I'm a firm believer that by frying one's bacon to the crispy point you give up alot of that wonderful bacon taste. Just MHO. Really I'd have to say a point between limp and crisp is my true favorite but it does have to be thick.

I'm with old trap, thick and golden brown, but not crispy or limp. Can't stand anything limp!(it's a girl thing)

There are several serious medical dangers that one can face with improperly prepared bacon. There is the danger that one would have to consume it all by one's self. The danger of dripping hot grease on yourself and the danger of biting a finger in a rush to consume the evidence. Limp bacon being similar to the finger. Preparing bacon to that glorious crispy perfection and aided by a hot cup of black java may shorten my life but it will be a happy gastronomic existence how ever long it is.

I said thin and crisp, however the crisp is the key for me. I only said thin because it seems to cook more evenly in the pan. In the oven it doesn't matter. Canadian Bacon, fried with some caramelization. I have to go and make bacon now.

What? I cannot select all. What kind of poll about bacon doesn't allow you to choose all?

    Thick and semi-crisp. With potatoes.

Cooked just enough to make it safe to eat,and slightly browned.(first time I had it that way was in Italy...but it wasn't "bacon" like we are used to either. More like prosciutto ham)Thick, thin or pieces...it's all good! Any way but burnt is good. Dottie though likes it kinda' burnt.

It really depends on what you are doing with it. Is it going on a BLT....a cheeseburger....a salad? Maybe alone on a piece of toast....or just alone. In mac & cheese, maybe? How about in a bloody mary?

You know you can lure 2D out of his lair if there's bacon in the title of the thread. Now, what do we use for Ken?

Gotta have it thick and chewy for me. My favorite camp breakfast would be to cook in the cast iron skillet 1lb bacon and 1lb sausage, then make gravy with the grease while cooking some biscuits in the dutch oven. Mmmm...nothing better than biscuit and gravy w/ side of bacon.

side note:I am still young enough that I am banking on there will be a medical breakthrough to clean my arteries by the time I get old enough it matters, lol
