Wow, you really scared me. The part of the Agency I work for is the Directorate of Administration and Logistics (DAL). What is a DAL (other than that)?

The most I reflect on this Survival Issue, the more clear I am that one factor is the single most important in determining survival.

I was taught it was FAL, but I guess DAL might be almost important.

Of course it is dependant on your climate and region, not to mention you mental state and if you are or are not injured.

I get it; It's daily armchair lounging. This is to ensure that we don't succumb to the stress.

Dark Ale Lager ??? sounds like fun
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

$hithouse luck- - - - then you mean the "fecal fingers"

While DAL may be true to some extent, I think that the more prepared we are, the less we have to rely on it.

DAL is irrelevant because you can't predict it or measure it.
What difference could it possibly make in preps?

Here's my thought process for what I posted. A tornado can quickly devastate and area and wipe out your "supplies". By have diverse, multiple locations you may be spared some of the hardships associated with losing everything. Bugging out in a storm (bad idea - should have left earlier) and having a tree blocking your path is made a mere inconvenience by having a chainsaw along for the ride. Sliding off a mountain road and down into a shallow ravine can be nothing more than an inconvenient wait for help with warm sleeping bags, food, and water. A rail car accident with some hazardous chemicals and the prevailing winds blowing in your direction can be devastating, but survivable with an emergency alert radio, stocked vehicle and bob.

Altho I am not. I always wanted to be lucky I considered that better then being good. Good can get you so far, being lucky exceeds being good.
Surivial is just an unplanned adventure when you are prepared

The whole thing about luck is moot.
It's like saying, I'd rather be lucky in Vegas than smart in every day life.
If you can't do anything about it (luck, that is) why spend even 5 min. thinking about it?
Unless of course, you subscribe to the saying (as I do)...the harder you work, the luckier you get.
