Default Can someone direct me to a leather sheath maker?????

    Calling all sheath makers

I have a good set of various building and trade craft skills, leather is NOT one of them.

I would like this sheath which was made by "Eye Brand" german maker that made the knife and sheath for Bianchi back in the 1980's........ made for my Cold Steel SRK. Could anyone direct me to a leather or knife (within the WSF) maker that can handle the task.

If so, either post here or PM me......I also have another leather project of a shoulder scabbord with a harness for back carry of a Winchester 94 20" carbine rifle...this rather than a shoulder strap/sling....that I would like to have done sooner or later.

I have owned the Bianchi Nighthawk and really, it is a weak sister, great over all design, just wrong materials. It broke fairly easy and the thread on the plastic end for the end cap is easily cross threaded making it useless.

All I am interested in is the sheath with a few simple modifications. Bianchi does not have any spares to work from, so I do not know the actual dimensions. The nighthawk sheath is too short for my SRK.

    Things I would like changed:

    1. The pouch on the sheath for the stone, I would like larger to hold instead a "Spark-Lite" fire starter container loosely..... the dimensions +1/16 for the spark-lite container (H-2 9/16 x W-1 9/16 x Thick-9/16)

    2. Would prefer either black or olive drab thread rather than white

    3. Would prefer subdued metal parts rather than brass, also better or higher quality metal parts.

    4. The belt loop to be angled or on a heavy duty swivel rather than straight up and down

Crash, Camp10 and panch0 also play about with leather.(lets see how long it takes Rick to put that in the gutter)

Nice job on that one, I just do not have the tools, skills and stuff to make it look decent. I would like to have it done by someone who regularly works in leather so it looks somewhat pro and well made..... I would cut corners and I do not want that for this sheath. I truly hate the sheath made for the SRK, same thing, plastic, stiff.....

Since Rick plays about in the gutter, you can hardly expect him to resist...

I think you are more then capable of doing the project yourself. However If you send me the knife I can make a sheath for you.
    1. If it's in your kit and you don't know how to use it....It's useless.
    2. If you can't reach your kit when you need it....Its useless.

LOL No seriously, I have tried my hand at leather... it truly is not my calling and I have the projects to proove it as a reminder. I will stick with woods craft and guns for now ;-)

Watch out. Klkak has terrible accidents with canoes. No really, he really does. That knife will be in the drink before you know it.
