    Default 1st try at Making Micarta Scales

    We Since I Got Me Some Steel Stock I Thought I Would Try My Had At Making Micarta Scales for Some Knives.,Still Need to Invest In a Belt Sander a Hand-Held Disk Sander is Way to Big can't get into corners and Small Areas So Them Main Clean Up of the Blades is Still being a Issue for Me .I Used A old pair of Blue Jeans and a Old Red Work Shirt for the Micarta.I Decided to Make 5 Bushcraft Blanks and Was working on a Small Blade When I Decide to Make these.Did Some Reading and Watched and Rewatched Crash's Tut's On Youtube for Guideance.So Thankyou All In Advanced for All your Information you all have Posted.

    Good on you man, I haven't tried it yet, i'm skeered..
    I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

    Well done. The belt sander makes it quicker (I use the 1X30 from Harbor Freight) but you can use files and hand sand with thin strips of sand paper to achieve the same result.

    Good job!! I still am waiting on my turn to get the "roundtuit" so I can use some of the burlap sacks I recently got.... Rick didn't you say you had the "Roundtuit"?

    No, no, no. That is a Round "Tuit". What I need is a "Roundtuit"( I believe it is made by Bondo,comes in a can and has an additive to harden it.)

    P.S.Crash I was trying to get him back for you...remember when he said you needed a "roundtuit" but it required 2 hands?

    Yep Been Looking At on for about a Week and Went and got it tonight So Now I'll Be Doing Better Finished Knives . Also Picked Up a Buffing Wheel for My Drill

    Yep were Looking a buying a House and on some of the the Houses were Looking at they list workshops and Sheds .So I'm Looking Ahead at wanting to have a Shop for Hobbies and For More Space to work on My Truck.And Future space for Making a forge and Bigger work area for Doing The Deer Skins .So Yep I'm hooked Like a Large mouth Bass Jumppin for freedom.AND I LIKE IT .
