by the morning of the 18th i'll be in Page, Arizona to stat a two week backpacking trip with a hike of the Paria Canyon Wilderness area including Coyote Buttes and Buckskin Gulch.

Loin cloth packed, spears straightened and camera battery charged.

I'm very excited. So often I have to cancel planned trips or put them off and this one is planned, supplied/equipped and the permits are arranged.

It's likely to be pretty cold and wet, and I'll be bringing long sleeves and a hat so I'll forgo the sun-screen.

There's going to be at least one 30' rappel so we'll be bringing some climbing gear and that may offer a good excuse for some climbing while I'm gone. I hope so. My current Harness hasn't even been broken in yet (or used at all).

Yes, likely to be pretty chilly, last time I was up that way was a few years ago in March, we were on a motorcycle, 40's in the daytime, hit snow when we got up around Zion. Don't fall in the lake.
