    Hi All

Well I have been sitting on doing this for a while now:

Dont worry it is over 26" overall and the barrel is over 18"

I had a few 20 gauges so I took one and made this mushroom gun.

The buttplate is made from canvas micarta. I also put an Uncle Mike's sling swivel on it.

    Cant wait to shoot it.

    Anyways just sharing

The work looks good...Not sure about the stock being so short...What did you gain?

    You really only gain compactness

This is not a "practical" thing to do

It was more of a "I wanted to do it" thing

At least you can add the piece you cut off back on...Right?

    No
But I have been thinking of putting a survivor stock on this one anyways
    No worries

One word. Lupara. I like it a lot. That might be a good candidate for an H&R survivor stock. Either way, I like it.

EDIT: Sorry, I was typing when you posted. Great minds and all.

How is that sling mount going to feel on your shoulder?

You are not supposed to shoulder it

Hold it out like a pistol gripped type

I don't think he'll be shouldering the weapon. Mushroom guns are more like big, two handed pistols.

I'm not a big fan for pistol grips on shotguns, but it does look kinda cool.
Let us know how it handles.
BTW, did you loose you front sight? choke?

Okay, I have to ask, why would you bother re-beading the sight. It's not like it will shoot 50 yards with any accuracy. Unless when you thump someone with it you want to leave a dimple.

    I had a 410 cut down once
With a bead I could reliably hit basketball sized rocks at 100 yds with slugs

For me it is an OCD thing
    I need the bead

Yeah, but rocks don't shoot back. They don't shoot back do they?

And Canadian basketballs are apparently 5 times bigger than U.S. basketballs at 100 yards.

One day people will learn; just because you own a hacksaw does not mean you are called by God to ruin good guns.
