I like the cold but at -58* I'd feel like I was doing penance in Siberia. That's extreme living at the extreme.
    The point eludes me.

Well the point eludes me as why humans would live in cities.

    I knew that was coming.
In our case it's purely trying to make a living and this is where it's at.

I get it 2D, but making a decent living for us has to be done in the black. If it's any shade of gray, then it might as well be white.

I understand, B. I was speeking in more general terms. Most people would choose somewhere in between the city and 58 below! LOL

If we could have our jobs in Dubois, WY, we'd be there in a flash. But one can never have it all, whether they want to admit that or not.

I know we're not as isolated as SD and others, but living out on the prairie with closest neighbors (not counting cattle, coyotes, pronghorn, hawks, pigeons, ground squirrels and rabbits) about a half mile away and we never see them. About 12 miles to nearest businesses (yep we have a Walmart now).

Man, that's just too freakin' cold for this coona$$ . That would make my semi tropical self miserable. I give you Yankees props for your cold weather tenacity. I think I'll just stay down here for a while were a very infrequent 20 degrees is a really cooooold night . Raising my beer in a toast to you right now. My lil boy wants to make a snow man for Christmas but it ain't gonna happen. Stay warm, you tuff as woodpecker lips, northern folks.

Nah. Tough is sticking your tongue to a post in that kind of weather then pulling it off without flinching.

it's not so hard in that climate. once it breaks off you just give it a light rap with a chisel and it comes right free.

2D most people would live in the city. That is why it is called the city, because most people live there. Okay, so maybe it is called a city for another reason, but it is still the place where most people live.

I am just wondering if you stick your tongue to a post in warm weather.

It's like wild edibles. You need to understand what it's like in all seasons. Aluminum tastes yucky. Just sayin'.
