AHHH. Winter in the Rockies. It was 8 degrees this morning and it's 63 degrees right now. No snow, lots of wind.

I'm sitting here in the hills at -4 degrees F waiting for my call to Al Gore to complete. We sure miss our global warming around here, just wondering how he's gonna explain it's all in my mind.

We warmed up after the thanksgiving blizzard. Now all the snow is melted. I need it to get cold so I can go snow camping when I have a week off after Christmas.

    Why yes, they are.

I planted it a little late. So I didn't get any tomatoes from it in the Summer. Maybe in the Winter?

Your making a really good case for me to pick up and move to AZ. Did I mention I tried to move a half eaten round bale on my lunch break.....Well it isn't as hard as it sounds, when the bale is frozen solid!

We were at around 10-12 last night and it's just now hitting around 20. I was hoping it would snow more...

That does sound awful cold for the swamp. We got down to 4 here last night, not counting the wind. High yesterday was 14 with clear sunny skies.

Hope I didn't mislead anyone! It was 18 above not below...The post was a bit tongue and cheek.

regretfully CS: growing up in alaska, i can promise you there's no risk of mosquitoes dissappearing down there.

while they don't survive the winters up there, the cold almost seems to make them bigger somehow, and they are in-fact the state bird.

After catching, cleaning, and eating my fair share of gators this is my take on them. Being a reptile, they usually don't have alot of fat to fool with. Like alot of wild game, the fat is not particularly tasty and can cause the meat to spoil more prematurely. So, yes, it should be mostly removed but that is not usually a problem because there is so little. Once in a while you may get a "fat" one but it ain't real often. This is just my particular dealings. By the way, the meat is soooo good you'll be whistling Dixie. For those who haven't, trust me, it's well worth just trying it out. You'll probably find the "other, other, other white" meat to be really good. just a foot note, the gators complain about really cold (20 degree) weather too.
