    Default Excused absence

I know this is political, and will probably get deleated, but I just have to vent.

I just saw that our new justice of the Supreme Court has excused herself from 25 of the 51 cases the court will hear this year due to conflict of interest.

She wrote the gvt briefs or helped in half the actions the Court will decide this year.

And she has only been gvt counsel for 19 months!

Fully half the constitutional infringement decisions before the court this year are against the present admin that is less than 2 years old!

Hope and change boys, Hope and change.

Lets look at the bright side. I'm glad that she isn't getting a vote, in those cases! LOL

I guess I'm lost. She should recuse herself if there is a conflict. It's not unusual for a judge to do that and I would think you'd be a lot more upset if you found out she had voted in the cases.

I don't think that's political ky, and I'm usually the first one to b*tch about political threads. If the woman can't do half of her work, she should maybe give back half of her paycheck, just sayin'.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

My real concern is that half the agenda of this term is due to constitutional breaches of the current admin that has only been operating for 19 months, and she was a key part of it.

Yes, she should excuse herself, no question about that. What is she going to favor in the first case in which she did not write the brief?

The present congress has put on the supreme court a person that has been defending the present admin in half the violations of the constitution that are now being judged!

and she now has the ability to interpret the constitution HER WAY for the rest of her life, which could easily be 40 years.

But it's that true for every judge appointed to a federal position?

As long as it takes to get a case before the court I find it amazing that this admin has managed to violate that many constitutional provisions in only 19 months.

    That is my amazement.

And she is their legal eagle, now guarding the chickenhouse

Yeah, okay. Now you're getting political and broad brushing.

Been a long time since I've been to school so I have the mistaken idea that those particular judges were suppose to interpret the Constitution for us common folk and not make their own brand of new laws to suit their political persuasion. I actually thought it was simple to understand, guess my KY education didn't go far.

Therein lies the rub. Each judge brings his or her own opinion to the table in making the interpretation. Justice has always been blind but it also has an opinion. It's hard to see but lady justice has her thumb on the weight bar and she holds a sword in case anyone challenges her.
