    Default What can you reach?

Stupid question that would only apply to a person of our nature.

We can call it "home invasion preperation".

What firearm/firearms can you reach without leaving your chair?

You can even cheat a bit if your chair has rollers, just stay in the same room.

Something just went "bump" against the side of the house and I realized all I had available without opening the safe was a .22 ss and a .380!

Reaching for my gun is not my first option, it is my last and have many other things in place for home defense. I have one gun I don't keep in safe and up to the task but I keep it well hidden and under a Bible to make me think for an instant before I use it. My situation may be different because I am one hell of a "Badass" without a gun and handle myself well in violent confrontations. I am surrounded by weapons all the time just not firearms. It is much easier to explain to the law that thier neck accidently got broke than explain bullet holes in them. Anyone thinking it impossible stands no chance by me.

Lots of dogs seem to handle most everything that comes along, at least trip whatever in the dark.
So I would have to actually get up and make an effort to retrieve deployed assets.

Springfield XD 45 w/14 rounds of hollow points. Kel-Tec PF9 w/7 rounds of hollow point and a Mossburg 500 Persuader with 8 rounds of 00 Buck Military Grade. That's what I'd have if everything hadn't been stolen.

We've got four dogs in the house that are a pretty good burglar alarm. If I need it, I've got a 9mm close by (usually in a holster on my belt). If someone breaks into my home, they're probably not going to be friendly so I do reach for the gun first.
I've also got a 12 ga. pump easily accessible.

Besides about 200 pounds of guard dogs (2) I have my 9mm on me or next to me at all times. My mossberg 12 ga in the corner near the door. We also have a very good security system as well. If I can get to the bedroom, M4 carbine, pair of .45 1911's, pheonix arms .22 pistol 30.06 rifle, barrett .50, barnett wildcat crossbow, plus a couple other suprises.

Without even moving the chair, Ruger LCP.
I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline.

I got a call center in Pakistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.
