I was thinking that a fishing vest with all its pockets can come in real handy for just throwing "crucial" things into it and still you can also have your bug out bag. (BOB) (Talking about those fishing vests with lots of pockets that are large enough to use effectively, not the skimpy ones.) Now, the thing I see as handy here is the fact its like a web belt with all the trimmings and pockets so you can put the most essential items into the fishing vest pockets and its just right there instead of taking off the bug out bag every time you needed something (granola bar, fire starters (if you don't have them around your neck), parachute cord (if you don't have a bracelet), flashlights, bandages or small first aid kit, pocket sized field guide (survival or copies from this site), or just what ever you may want to have in those pockets. Now if you have a winter coat on under or over it, you have all the more pockets to put things into, plus you can hang it up in the closet or keep it tucked under your seat of your vehicle.
For some who just have their bug out bag so crammed you could screw with it for an hour before you find the bottom, this would come in handy since the most essential items would be in your fishing vest, at least have extras tucked away in the bug out bag just in case. Your 30 minute break can be a 5 minute break if you are in a hurry and don't have to take your pack off *unless you need the back break as well*. In a hurry, you want to keep moving and when you need a snack you don't want to stop and scruffle around in your BOB to find something to munch on.
So is this anyone mentioned before? Am I always a day late? haha
So even with a fanny bag for mobile friendly escorts without your car, the BOB *bug out bag* and having a fishing vest if you really felt it was needed, may just cover all the arrangements for carrying things you need when you have to head for the hills. Even those extra pockets for ammo, hmmmm.
Feel free to add anything.
