Default Pencil sharpener for tinder kit

I tried using the search engine and was not able to get any proper answers so here goes.

I have just thought of using a small aluminum pencil sharpener to make tinder.
It would be able to shave small branches/twigs and expose a dry inner layer in a thin state that should be excellent tinder for fire starting.

Any body else use this method and wgat results have you had?

You can also get bigger diameter sharpeners for fat eyeliners which are the same as a pencil sharpener but usually have a bigger diameter opening. Generally if you look in the makeup section you can probably find one that has both diameters together which would allow you to sharpen bigger sticks and little ones also

I had never thought of using that. Awesome, that's why I love sites like this, you can always learn something.
