    Default First attempted Dagger

This is the first Dagger I have attempted. I junked about three blades cause I couldn't get it exactly symmetrical. This was as close as I got. It was such a tough knife to do. I know what I will do different next time. The materials and blued steel were requested by the new owner.

    Gun Blued 1/8" 1084 steel
    Over All length 9 1/4
    Blade length4 1/8
    Handles black linen micarta/Real ivory
    Stainless and micarta pins

    Looks awesome!
Only thing I would change is to go for scandic(flat) bevel, but that's just me...

The grinds are 12 degrees. I thought of that but as soon as you sharpen it it would scrape the bluing off. If it was just plain steel showing then that would have worked great. Thanks!

I suppose that's always a thing to consider when doing stuff for other people. I personally don't care if some of the bluing suffers as long as the blade is sharpened in the angel and in the way I want it.

And of the quality, are you sure you haven't done daggers, full day, for the last 10 years? That looks truly pro made.

Daggers no but fixed blades for about two years. I am new and wet behind the ears still. I learn new stuff everyday. Thanks for the compliments.

    That turned out awesome.

I don't have the skills for a dagger yet.
I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Me neither, but it came out al right. Getting the grinds to match was a pain to do. They still are off if you look at it closely. I used 30 min epoxy to attach the handles and my hands where full of it after I got all the pieces together. It was a sight to see. Thanks for the kind words guys.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that was "Snow Goose". Black head and legs and white body. That's a beautiful knife. You are very talented!

Daggers are extremely difficult. Edge lines to hole straight. Double spine to keep straight on each side. They can drive you crazy!

You did a good job Pancho.

Looking dangerous. The only thing worse than getting caught with a knife like that is getting caught without it. Mac
