Thread: Hammock Knots...

    Default Hammock Knots...

So i just got a new more basic hammock than i had previously which had a sort of latch system and was an super fast set up,i downgraded for something more easily carryable and compact,It came with no instructions and i googled the hell out of it but no one could agree on what is the best knot,I just have rope on either end of the hammock around a tree....

Also where is the best place to toss your backpack in the wilderness when you are sleeping? i dont want to leave it on the forest floor and this is assuming i dont find a brand big enough close by to hold by 15+ pound bag on...

What do the most basic of you use for water protection over a hammock? i was going to put the hammock up then run a small rope a few feet above the hammock across the two same trees and toss a tarp or something over so it secures each side and covers over the sides of the hammock....

Pict, great video. I find your reasoning very sound as to why you use black plastic. I thought about using black plastic, but ended up just sewing my own tarp and water proofing it myself.

Anyways, here is series of videos that answer a lot of hammock and tarp questions. This is the first of 10 videos. I will let those interested do their own finding video #2 through 10. And he is entertaining to watch, even if you don't like hammocks.
