Here is an easy way to support your photo or video camera that doesn’t really cost anything, is very easy to make, and fits in your pocket. It is called a “String Tripod”.
This string tripod is not my idea. It is an old trick that I thought would be nice to share.
This is how you make it;
You need: An eyebolt with an eye of about ¾” in diameter and the bolt itself of about 1½ inch long. The thread is 1 x ¼ - 20 and a string of about twice you body length. You can use anything as long as it does not stretch too much. If you like to go fancy, you can use a matching nut for the eyebolt.
All you do is you make a loop in the string, connect the string to the eyebolt, screw the eyebolt with the nut into tripod mount on the bottom of the camera. Hand-tighten the nut and you are done!
Operations are equally simple, you stand with one foot on the string and you pull up the camera to your eye level. Make sure the string is as taut as possible. That’s it. You will be amazed with the improvement in the sharpness of your pictures.
