Default 3 Day Solo Trip Videos

Back in 2008 shortly before we went back to the US I did a solo trip. My intention was to upload these videos as segments on my channel. Showing them to friends back home universally they all said, "We had no idea you were so beat up!" There had been many, serious, things happening in my life at this time. I hadn't realized how much stress I had been under or the effect it was having on me. I have been reluctant to upload these videos because they don't show my usual upbeat self.

Nothing hits the reset button like solitude in the wilderness. It was on this trip that I remembered what it felt like to feel normal. It was a long time after this that, that feeling became the default setting of my life.

Now that we are back in Brazil and a great many of the problems I had been facing are resolved these videos no longer represent the last of our days here. We are back in the place we consider home doing what we love with the people we are called to serve and I can't tell you how huge that is for us. Depression is a tunnel, not a mine, you can come out the other end into the light of day.

Over the next few weeks I'll upload the rest of videos as I get them re-edited.

Sarge frequently says there is more than one sort of survival. I'm glad you have come through and survived!

You do realize of course that we've been waiting about a year and a half for that video since the trailer came out? http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...ight=solo+trip Seriously though - your experiences in the bush of Brazil sound wonderful. We all are glad that you share them here.

I watch your videos all the time! Thank you so much for posting them. While I'm TOTALLY not in Brazil...it's educational to see survival techniques in other climates.
I have to say though, I couldn't get over the bug noise in this last one. I don't know that I could handle being surrounded by buzzing insects 24 hours a day!

They are seasonal. When it comes to bugs we have a 12 season climate here, it seems something hatches every month. I talk about them in the next video, they were with me that entire trip but only during the day. Other bugs come out at night. Mac

A pay check? Come on now, Crash...I'm slow...what's that mean? LOL!

I think that's a perk, Mac. Out here we get bugs at night...I think I would rather deal with them during the day and be able to sleep in peace.
