    Default Chiggs New Diggs

I lucked up and was able to buy 11 acres of timbered mountian land from a buddy of mine. The property borders the road at the foot of the mountian and goes up about 500 ft. The Paint Rock river is 50ft. from the northern prop line. To the north and east it borders Joe Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and across the river is Roy Whittiker Refuge. About 1200 ft. up the mountian ishttp://www.fws.gov/ferncave/
No utilities availible and 4mi. of rough *** road to get there. My buddy and I built a small scabin back there about ten years ago.I hope to build a somewhat nicer one starting this fall and use the old one for storage. I can't wait, but I've got to do some work on the city house first.

Theres a few snakes around, in fact there is a church on the road that uses them in their services.

No pics yet but you can go tohttp://sites.google.com/site/wilkinsbb/ferncave~alabama and see a couple of pics of the cave openings that show what the terrain looks like. Its all just steep, rocky hardwoods.
The cave is off limts right now to stop the spread of white nose fungus in the bat population.

The church would be off limits to me to prevent the spread of the scared $hitskis.
