Man, I heard nothing about these things except bad news, then I went and tried one out. My son has one and we were out playing with it last weekend. We were popping soda pop cans at over a hundred yards ( we were pretty much staying in that range because he has some larger calibers with him and was zeroing in his scopes) and there was a strong cross wind, never affected it at all. We both hit everything we pointed it at. And--my son put a small rock on top of a can. The bullet went through the top of the can and shattered the rock. I'd say in a no wind situation this rifle would be good for a lot more distance than what we were shooting, so if someone's doing coyote or fox hunting, yeah this'd be a good rifle for that kind of work.
